Elie Fayre Day - Report
Written by EESC Monday, 19 July 2010 16:40
After a years break Elie Fayre Day, was held down at the Harbour last saturday( 17th July).
We had a good time at the Fayre Day where the club members made people welcome in club house, offereing free tea & coffee and the chance to get updates what was happening in The Open Golf.
We also attracted some more new members to the club and raised a few hundred pounds in the process.
Thanks to all the club members who turned up and helped out in this busy day at the club house.
Next Event: 25th July Craws Nest Trophy Race.
Next Social: 14th August - the Boat Club that Rocks!

Missing Tender /CG66
Last Updated on Wednesday, 14 July 2010 10:10 Written by EESC Sunday, 11 July 2010 10:44
Last Night (10th July) a Tender was found off Methil, belonging to one of the boats in the Harbour. This had Broken free from a Mooring overnight.
The Yacht that it belonged to was not a club member, but Forth Coastguard called the Club just incase we knew who it was.
This lead to some uncertianly about the safety of the Yacht, since the boat had no passage plan filed and was not Registered on the CG66 scheme.
Almost 1 Hour later, and various phone calls we managed to contact the owner, mean while the coastguard was dealing with another incident of Stonehaven and precious resources were tided up finding out if this boat was safe.
So please if you have not done so Register your boat on the CG66 Scheme link below, and always place a passage plan or tell the Coastguard your attentions.
CG66 - The Voluntary Safety Identification Scheme - You can register online [here]
This will enable the coastguard to contact you if your boat is found adrift for any reason, and act accordingly if needed.
For more a free confidential chat about Boat Safety , please contact myself as an RNLI SEA Safety Advisor, I can arrange to meet you at your boat or down at club and give you advice and if you need a hand filling in the CG66 we can do this in the club house.
Regards
Scott
