Work Day - 31st October
Last Updated on Monday, 19 October 2009 19:22 Written by Scott Monday, 19 October 2009 19:20
Dear Member,
CLUB WORK PARTY – SAT. 31ST OCTOBER 2009
Now that the end of sailing season has arrived and before the winter grips Elie, it’s time for us to turn our attention to looking after the clubhouse.
There are a few things that need done in and around the clubhouse to protect it from the winter elements.
Most of external paint work needs re-painting, the expansion joints need re-filling and the Dinghy Park could do with some clearing up.
So, with this in mind, on SATURDAY 31ST OCTOBER FROM 0830 – 1500 HOURS, we have arranged a workday. We need your help to come down for few hours to help us get the clubhouse ready for the winter.
We will supply free lunch – BBQ with burgers, sausages, refreshments and as much Tea/Coffee that you can drink!
Days like these are very important to the running of the Club, as members donating their time saves the Club paying for people doing the tasks, thus making sure we can keep running costs and hence membership fees as low as possible. You don’t need to be great at DIY or painting; we will find you something to do, even if it is just making the Tea/Coffee which could be the most important task of the day!
The committee has agreed to keep the membership fee for 2009/2010 the same as this year, so please don’t disappoint us by not supporting this work day.
Come along and enjoy the camaraderie and banter and get to know other members who perhaps you haven’t had the chance to meet and should the weather not be favourable to outdoor work, we can all enjoy a few hours knowing that we had good intentions!
Please let me know if you are coming along so that we can plan the lunch numbers.
Regards
Scott P Roberts
Vice-Commodore
On behalf of Elie & Earlsferry Sailing Club
